The first action of pre-season is almost upon us as Albion U-23s face the Whitehawk first team in a behind-closed-doors friendly at the training ground this evening. There has been no word from Albion so I have no clue whether there will be any coverage from the club; the Hawks are looking to provide updates "where possible":-

Anyone know who is on the bench? No Roberts, Jenks, Cochrane, O'Hara, Sanders, Richards, Weir, Yapi, Kazukolovas... Or will they be in the 1st team squad for pre-season?

I've no idea who is on the bench, but when you have 69 contracted professionals (plus a further 20 scholars) it just shows why we have 25-30 lads going out on loan each season, as you could never give the bulk of these younger, developing players the playing time they would need if you kept them in-house (to say nothing of the competitive level of U-23s football).

Good to see Longman back after a long lay off. Was playing as a winger but tall powerful and direct and was starting to look a real menace. I hope he can kick on.
