This is a bit WEIRD - and IMO removes any faint possibility of us taking it seriously.

To get through to the business end, you're committing to playing EVERY midweek for a month, right at the start of the season?

Expect a deliberate first-round, third-strength capitulation like last year, then.

would have thought the League cup could have been dropped, rather than squeeze in all those fixtures in September. if they must have something for the sponsors pick 8 teams from a hat and jump straigt to quarters.

or have a player from each team play on fifa/pro soccer. serious suggestion, would probably get more viewers for novelty.

I thought we had one of our better goes at this competition last season, as we won away at Bristol Rovers in the 2nd round before going out to the eventual cup runners up in round 3.

But you're right zero starters from the PL at the weekend will play in the midweek League Cup

Depending on the dates, in a normal season I presume we would have taken a fair few to Charlton to try and help them out financially in the situation that they’re in.
