I read in the transfer gossip that Valencia apparently putting their entire squad up for sale and with them being desperate for cash would it be worth looking into this fella Maxi Gómez? 6ft 1inch, Striker, scores goals, only 23, 24 this month, target man, reminds me of Mitrovitch but taller. West Ham were in for him last per season and Man U looking in January before they signed Ighalo. If true that bids of between £25 and £30m are being considered for Odsonne Edouard at Celtic why not bit that kind of money for this fella? I know he's not a centre back but he kinda looks a bit like one. Week wage is apparently about £45k

Anyone know much about him?

Last bloke we got from Valencia was all right. There may well be quite a few distressed teams selling players off cheap this summer could be some real bargains knocking about.

Montoya is... ye ok I agree, he is alright... not much more than that

Matt Ryan and Bruno i'd agree, Martín Montoya not so much.

Ryan, Bruno, Montoya, Vicente, a friendly game last summer... is there some official connection between the clubs?

Anyway, when I wrote the other day that La Liga is better than the PL I got a few responses saying that La Liga only got a few good teams and the rest is Championship level. Considering Valencia ended up in the 9th place, I guess this would make them a playoff side in the Championship, so perhaps it would be equally wise to sign someone who scored 10 goals in the Championship. Kieffer Moore from Wigan maybe, surely would be cheaper.

6ft 1 is taller than 6ft 2? Glad I am 6ft 1 then!

Valencia let a couple of players go out on loan to Villareal the other day too and i think i read Francis Coquelan is on the move too, if there are more financial problems at the Mestalla, this could be a shrewd time to add another player from one of our Spanish feeder clubs

Do they have anyone who plays as a left wing back? That's the other role I think we need the most.

It's rare for sarcasm to translate on the web but you managed

Valencia have had a terrible season but retain some decent players. IMO I think we can attract some better class players than we might have otherwise have been able to in this market. Not just from Valencia but a lot of clubs if we have the money to do it ourselves.

La Liga doesn't have the strength in depth of the PL mostly because their distribution of TV money is even more uneven than ours but there is a bit more to it than 3 teams too. They can also mitigate this in part with lifestyle advantages. Malaga or Burnley tough choice :lolol:

I think Moore just signed for Cardiff?

I disagree.

La Liga got every bit as much "strength in the depth". Yes the players are lesser known and the small teams in England got more famous foreign players, but the talent production in Spain compensates for this with a large margin. The average Solly March of a Spanish team is generally twice the player he is.
