Great article on the club website today.

It was posted on the Ben White thread but I thought it deserved it's own thread.

The very notion of us having a Pathway Development Manager blows my mind a little.

It's almost like there's a plan with our young players and they develop each year. But that can't be true as Leeds fans tell us we'd never heard of one of them and had no idea of his potential.

On a serious note, it shows the different level we're on compared to 10/15 years ago. The fact that we had so many players on loan in the top half of the Championship and playing regularly is brilliant. And means that even if some of them don't become regulars for us, we will get good transfer fees for them in the end.

Or on a more pessimistic note, if we get relegated we won't need to buy players.

Agreed. It may be a pessimistic view but it's definitely another positive of all the players we have loaned out. Even selling some of our high profile players, we'd still have a number of players with recent Championship experience, before we even bought anyone.

How far back would we have to go to be delighted at a transfer window which included a striker from St Pauli, a striker from the Belgian champions, three defenders including the youth player of the season from the championship title winners, the player of the season from Derby, and a Norwegian U21 International from St Pauli, plus Blackburns goalie and Millwall's star young midfielder.

Probably not very far.... and they're all ours already. Granted we're unlikely to see Tau, but still....
