World football is going mad as every club becomes desperate for centrebacks who are comfortable with playing out from the back. Brighton have moved into a new venture where they sign as many of these players as possible inadvertently pushing up the price of such defenders on a global scale in order to finance the bid for the perfect striker

Good defenders under 25 who are good enough to play in the PL are worth a lot of money . If you can pick one up cheap circa £1-2m , lend them to a championship club and then sell them on for ) 15m plus that’s good business !

BN De Stem is a local Breda paper. In the paper's original piece they are saying the rumour comes from "several well-informed sources", which could mean absolutely anything (or nothing) of course...
