Let's just say you're Tony's right-hand man now and he's asking you who we should get from either Norwich, Bournemouth or Watford.

Would you take Deeney over Pukki? Cantwell over Gosling? Artur Boruc on a Free?

The choice is yours. Who would you take? (Money and wages not to be included in your rationale)

My choice is not to speculate. Albion don't make on the hoof decisions like waiting to see who gets relegated. As we know, the club courts players over several months or years sometimes rather than opportunist swoops. I would be very surprised if Albion were interested in anyone from the bottom three, but happy to be proven wrong if it benefits us.

Realistically, Ake is off to City and we don't really need another CB.

Apart from Brooks and maybe Lewis Cook, I'd be hesitant to take anyone. Look how trash £15million Billing was for 'Muff this year.

But it nearly never works like this does it? Just look at the two signings we have made in the past week.

But as you asked. Pukki, no thanks. Cantwell, no to sockboy. Too busy concentrating on what he looks like rather than putting a shift in.

Callum Wilson though, yes to him.

My choice would be to not rule out signings from other clubs or limit myself to the relegated 3.

The only player of the three who I'd regard as being anything like reliable and consistent enough is probably Deeney, but he's Mr Watford so won't be going anywhere.

No, it is expensive, there are generally better players in Championship and in Europe and they "are used to losing" meaning they have poor confidence which takes time and energy to turn around. And the few ones, like Ake, proven to be good enough without any doubt are usually set to go to stronger teams. I dont think there will be any signings from the relegated teams.

Genuine question, is he really better than they already have?

Better than Stones and Otamendi. Probably not better than Laporte.

They were looking for a left footed defender with homegrown status and Ake is most likely the best available player that meets those criterias.

Deulofeu, Sarr, Brooks, Wilson, Lewis, Buendia

Basically this, but would add Lewis Cook to that if we move on Propper (which I hope/don't think we will).

Not saying he's a better player at this time, but do feel we'd move for Solanke before Wilson due to age, wages, re-sale value.

Edit - Someone mentioned Doucoure. He would add something different but his form last season (not this), I think will earn him a move to a 'bigger' club.

These aren't the players you're looking for.

His knee was shot towards the end of the season, doubt he would pass a medical

Solanke? Are you having a laugh? Totally useless.
