I saw a post on another thread about the the difference next season being us turning draws into wins.
I also saw a comment that asked how many of those draws were points lost versus points gained. Given I am a sad sort i thought would list them to find out. This is based on what happened in the game not whether we should beat teams around us etc.
West Ham home (2 points lost) - no question it’s points lost as we battered them and VAR ruled out a goal
Newcastle away (2 points lost) battered them for 90 minutes another goal ruled out and an amazing goalline clearance
Burnley Home (2 points lost) - sickening, I’m still not over it.
Palace away (2 points lost) - as above
Villa home (2 points lost) - leading at half time, should have won!
Wolves Home (1 point gained) - I know we were ahead briefly but given their pace and power and overall results this season i was relieved with a point.
Chelsea Home (1 point gained) - one down five minutes to ago against top team till you know who did you know what.
West Ham away (1 point gained) - 2 goals down twice - great comeback
Sheffield United Away - (1 point gained) - came back against a good side
Wolves away (1 point gained) - tough place to go
Leicester Away (1 point gained) I know we missed a penalty but they are a good side and we were hanging on at the end.
Southampton away (1 point gained) - absolutely stole a point!
Watford home - (1 point gained) - one down late on the game until an own goal.
Newcastle home (neither gained or lost) we didn’t deserve to win or lose.
So by my calculations we lost 10 points by drawing and gained 8. So fairly equal over the season.
Not sure what this proves but I enjoyed remembering all the games! I’m sure some people will see it differently...
