I know Americans have some bizarre ideas about sport as an event but this takes the biscuit.....or is it something “cool” that will spread to Europe?

My initial thought was that it was so tinpot I expected to see it had been sponsored by the Cornish Tourist Board but the more I read the article the more I enjoyed their enjoyment of what they were doing. I don't see it harming anyone and it's raising the profile of the game over there.
Americans are stranger things.

The general crux seems to be that their actual MLS clubs are so plastic that people who are genuinely into the game are trying to get their fan culture elsewhere. Still a bit weird though.
