George Cox has completed a permanent move to Fortuna Sittard, pending international clearance.
The 22-year-old full-back initially joined the top-flight Dutch club last September on loan.
He made 27 appearances in the Eredivisie and scored his first goal against PEC Zwolle in a 1-1 draw in March, in Fortuna’s last game before the season was curtailed because of the Covid-19 crisis.
Cox played for Albion’s under-23s and in the EFL Trophy before a loan spell with Northampton in 2019.
Technical Director Dan Ashworth said: “George has enjoyed playing for Fortuna, and he and the club were keen to make the move permanent.
“This represents a great opportunity for him; and it is one he has worked very hard to achieve.
“On behalf of everyone at the club, we wish him every success for his future career and I would like thank him for his efforts during his time with us.”
