happens every year. many times. thats why we have new flu vaccines each year, its constantly new virus strains coming from animals, in China, south east Asia, South America, anywhere really.

Indeed, but the vaccine is decided a year in advance. If something new does come along then the pharmaceutical co's will not have enough time to react and manufacture.
