The Roaring Boys, mid 1980's reportedly had the biggest advance at the time for a newly signed band, I thought they were really good at the time, but they sunk like the Belgrano.

Yeah, I agree! I didn't choose a very representative song from them. In fact, Twiggy Twiggy was the first song I ever heard from them. I have two of their albums: Made in USA, and Playboy, Playgirl - both excellent, uplifting, great writing and musicianship.

Yes I think from memory the roaring boys were given a £500,000 advance with the expectation they were going to be the new Duran Duran or Spandau Ballet but like you said it never happened . Shame because I thought their album was actually quite good . Apparently they were all public school boys which is very rare for a pop band .
