So, one WhatsApp challenge me and a few friends completed in this time of social distancing was the share our football shirt collections, some of which came with some interesting stories.

It has gotten me tempted to add to my collection - and I wanted to know the best places to look both price and availability wise? I am of course aware of oldfootballshirts - find it a great database.

If it’s not too “sad”, feel free to post photos/links to your own collections also.

In a pile of football shirts
If you like me like obscure kits...
there's a massive selection of Brazilian club shirts here:- https://www.futfanatics.net
and Mexican club shirts here:- https://www.charly.com/en/us/football/

I’m also a big fan of obscure kits, and these days tend to increase my collection with shirts from far and wide as I have all the Brighton shirts now. ConIFA shirts are prized, as are lower league shirts from the USA. Generally anything that catches my eye. I’m slowly building a collection of Sussex team shirts too. I try to pick up a shirt or two when I’m away on holidays, and when travelling around the UK I look for non league grounds to visit and see what I can find.
Collection stands around 500 shirts, not as many as some but for me each shirt has a bit of a story. This is my footie shirt room at the moment

You don’t have a particular go to site or two, where you know prices will be decent? Or just eBay?

That's a massively impressive Collection.

Can't you build an Office, or a Nursery or a Recording Studio like normal people ?

I jest of course - Looks really good but surprised your wife or children haven't commandeered that space from you over the years .

eBay has it's uses, and I find a few bits there, and there are a lot of shirts there. It's worth going to ebay.com, ebay.com.au and other countries ebay sites as often items are listed only on that countries ebay platform. Depop is a mess but I have picked up a couple.
I follow teams on Twitter, especially the smaller types and often they'll put up a shirt for sale, often limited quantities as they are small clubs, a favourite is Providence City FC who have released some cracking shirts. Also worth following the lesser known kit manufacturers as they often put items up for sale they you'd never see elsewhere (Hope & Glory, Leyburn Sports and SKKits for example). There are also a lot of small and big businesses out there specialising in selling vintage shirts, in the main very reliable and trustworthy.

I found a 1993 Brighton 3rd kit White Ribero shirt in a charity shop 198 miles away from Brighton , I think I paid £3.25 for it in immaculate condition , my husband , the collector has found a fair few in charity shops that on Ebay would fetch a good price .

Superphil - what would you say is the going rate for a 1983 cup final shirt (ie a replica as sold to the fans, not match worn!) in reasonable condition.

If it's Adult size I'd think it would make £200+ on eBay based on prices I have seen on there in recent months. If it was for sale on any of the vintage football shirt sites I wouldn't be surprised to see it priced at £300 or more.

I have just discovered Football Town. I guess they are reminiscent of TOFFS. I quite like "The Seagull". In fact I probably will purchase when I next get paid.

What about a 1983/4 home shirt with “Wembley 1983” under the badge? Numbered 13 - was either a reserves or youth team shirt I would imagine.

Superphil has it hands down

I have about a dozen Albion shirts, my fave being an original Bukta.

I always wanted a Petrolel Ploiesti shirt from when I lived/worked there . . .we went to the local dereby vs Astra PLoisti which was a memorable game. replica kits didnt exist there at the time (1999)
