As an aside I'd never heard of Colindale before, not even Colin Dale.
I had to look it up to see where in the UK it was.

The link wants me to accept their cookies so I'm out.

I lived in Edgware in 1980. Colindale is near. As is Burn Oak. At the latter tube station someone had doctored the O and added an 'i' on one of the tube stations signs. It was that sort of place.

Kentucky Free Cocaine?
You'd think it was judging by the length of that queue.

All the beautiful prose around what I will do come the end of this lockdown, hug the grand kids, relax with friends, take the family away ...

Did any say:-

'jump in the car and join a massive queue to get a bargain bucket'?

Ah, all journalists will know Colindale, it was the home of the British Library's newspaper archive for many years. It closed some time ago and the archive is now available online ... at a hefty cost.

Probably not helped by the staff having to nip home to pick the chickens up from their back yard and offering home baked bread instead..its the new norm

That said, the terraces open here next week and I'm more looking forward to a decent coffee or cold beer than I am seeing people

I wouldn't sit in my car for an hour waiting in line though.

Me too, people are so overrated, I'm also quite partial to a Zinger meal.

But like you not so eager I'd want to queue for an hour, in my car, with the engine running.

Maybe their kids need a treat after being locked in without seeing their mates for 6 weeks? Maybe they are at their wits end with the constant cooking and cleaning?

I'm not entirely sure joining the back of that queue in a cramped metal box, is the answer.

I'm still thinking about what would have to be at the front of the queue to make me join the back.

Colindale is basically pigeon shit paradise, all over the shop fronts.
Also you have the training centre at Hendon nearby, for the Mets finest, who probably use that local KFC

It does have the RAF Museum though (well, you get off the tube at Colindale for it at least), which goes in its favour.
