Brings back the memories. Pre season 83/84 he brought his mate John Manning down hoping to make him coach and we gave him digs. Melia came breezing in one day - he was just a bundle of energy and joy. Sadly for him the club appointed Cattlin as coach behind his back and started his demise. I thought Cattlin did OK although, reading Gordon Smith autobiography I get the impression that bringing in a different type of discipline was unpopular with the big time Charlie’s at the club.
