Going through old programmes I came across a News Release handed out at the home game on Dec 21st 1995 which informed us that:
Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club are delighted to announce today that they have submitted a planning application to develop a new football stadium, sports complex and commercial development at Toads Hole Valley.
It ends:
Today is the culmination of two years work by the club to identify a site which can host a Premier League club - it is now up to Hove Council to decide whether they can support our vision of the future.
It also told us that "When Bill Archer and Greg Stanley took control of the club in 1993 they performed a rescue act from the financial mess which the club was in at the time."
That worked out well then!!
