Never studied Case's celebration after scoring until now (certainly not at the time, was just going potty). No showing respect there for your former club, in the city you grew up in and with many of your mates on the Kop.

I'd forgotten how well Joe Corrigan played in the 1984 game.

If you've been ****ed over, why would you?

I don't know that, but always thought it.

and he's always been one of my starting 11 best ever Albion players.

I'd forgotten how well Joe Corrigan played in the 1984 game.

as a kid for me it was Graham Mostly Crap, Eric Steel ( always thought he was better) Gary Phillips, only once? I remember going to a game and thinking he was ace ( must have made a few good saves, and I was a budding keeper at the time) then Joe Corrigan came along . . . he was apparently past his prime, but quality. . .and 6'4" was massive then, a top trump winner!

I remember running downstairs and telling my mum and dad when Albion scored.
It was this game That got me hooked me on the Albion.

After a few 1-4's this was a massive result, as good as a 4-0 win to me . . . I went to all these games with my cousin who was and still is a Liverpool fan.

clearly not sussex through and through.

Bloody Worthing!
Really enjoyed this (brief) trip down memory lane. My 'takeaways' were:

the crowd - brilliant (I wasn't there BTW but I watched it on TV in Liverpool and it gave me a chance to remind the Scousers I knew that 1983 wasn't a flash in the pan)
the pitch - not so brilliant
Corrigan - fab
Grealish, Penney, Ryan, Connor, Fozzie (that clearance!) and - oh sod it - the whole team - pretty damn good
Hansen and (forgive me) Lawrenson - not as immaculate as I remembered
Souness - nice to see him hobble off, and it didn't hurt our prospects of a result
