Used to be fried, now I have learned how to do them properly, two poached eggs on toast with a touch of salt and black pepper thanks very much.

Recently got into coddled eggs and it’s the way to go. I’m going to order the bigger ones though so I can mix stuff with them.

Crispy, deep fried egg.
Poach an egg, cool it under cold water, egg wash the poached egg when cool, and roll in freshly made breadcrumbs with any herb/ spice additions that you like, repeat the egg washing and breadcrumbing, so you have 2 layers, deep fry in clean oil of your choice for about 90 seconds.
Bloody lovely.

I had to look that up, and now gonna make plans to give that a try - I love poached eggs, but can't seem to get them right

Variety is the spice of life. Poached, fried, scrambled, boiled, whatever. If I had to pick a breakfast favourite, it would probably be a poached egg in a spicy noodle soup. But give me a benedict, royale, menemen, or dippy egg and soldiers and I won't complain.

Poached with kippers, restricted to when I'm on holiday somewhere as the wife draws the line at the smell of kippers in the house.
