[Help] The proper way to zest a lemon?

Does one move the lemon, keeping the grating tool still?

Or does one move the grating tool, keeping the lemon still?

Or finally, does one both both?

Any help would be appreciated!

Now, does one move the lemon? The tool/knife or both at the same time when zesting?

What if you were offered a Lime ? would you swap or stick surely this is the question we should be asking ?

I would decline the lime, since lime does not belong on a lemon soufflé.

No idea if it's the proper way but I use a microplane - also have never attempted a soufflé, so not sure if that will give you zest that is too small/big/something else incredibly precise!

Pls report back with soufflé photos, very interested!

I have a special tool for zesting, hold your lemon in your left hand and the tool in the right,( this can be reversed if you are a One in Ten ) pull the tool towards you over the lemon while pushing the lemon away. voilla !
