Should be paying back British taxpayers before increasing their wage bill.

Yeah they should be ashamed that they dont have billionaire owners. Delia Smith and Michael Wynn-Jones should start online casinos so they can afford to be as morally perfect as some others and avoid taking economic measures in an economical crisis..................

I have far more problems with Daniel Levy or the Pool yanks taking bullshit decisions than if the poorest club in the league do it. Signing some Luxemburgian fella who will arrive after the club got thier summer cash injection doesnt change it.

Is he not taking any wages, or signing on fee or associated costs, then?

There must have been some costs involved, that could have gone towards staff that have been furloughed.

You know for certain that there was! For all we know, any payments might be deferred until things football returns. Who's going to blame a player from the Luxembourg league for jumping at the opportunity to sign for a 'championship' team!

Costs may have been deferred and I certainly don't blame the player. The club have badly mistimed this if they think it is a morale boost for fans, having just dumped on their staff... They could have kept it under wraps until this had blown over, it's not like there's any football going to happen any time soon!

It's just another example of how out of touch football is with reality...

Even if payments are deferred, perhaps Norwich should pay back the British tax payer out of any future income first ?

Calm down Farage, Swansman summed it up perfectly. There are a lot of costs associated with running a football club, their owners aren't that rich in the grand scheme of things. If Brighton did this there's be no indignation, it would be 'only a free transfer, we are tightening our belts'.

It is NOT a Faragist view.

Why not pay back any debt to the British people before splashing the future income cash ?

If we were doing deals like this, which we probably are, I would like to think we would have the class to understand this isn't the time to be trumpeting such news, when people are dieing in their thousands or fearful for loss of income!
