Come on then, let's do this.

I'll take the obvious one, for the team:-

Stand up from Ronnie Corbett was, in many ways, sit down for any other comedian.

I always thought their shows were a mixture of very funny and absolute crap. The funny stuff always seemed to be driven by Ronnie Barker.

The songs they used to do at the end were awful.

Sadly this thread didn't turn into what I hoped.

Had it been a Greatest Hits package, to lighten the mood, I would now be pointing you towards all the 'linguistic' sketches.

The likes of 4 candles, Mastermind et al were usually written by Barker under an assumed name.

Singing while crossed dressed was usually Corbett driven and barely tolerated by RB.

Mastermind sketch was top drawer but having recommended it to my 28 year old son I realised he wouldn't know any of the people mentioned

Gerald Wiley was his "nom de plume" I think, also did he not come from or live in Littlehampton?

He had a place on south Terrace.

I don't know which one but I'll hazard a guess it's now been converted into 15 one room 'flats'.
At least 3 of which won't have a single window!

I used to live in a place in Streatham. Rumour has it, Ronnie C used to own the whole house, and rented it out decades ago, turning up every month in a white Rolls Royce to collect the rent. This is obviously nonsense, but great if it was true.

Songs like "We like birds, we're ornithologists
Horny Porno-tho-lo-gists"
I still remember the words to this little ditty after all these years. Must have appealed to my smutty schoolboy sense of humour, though I was grown up when I watched it!

Yes I know it can be viewed as rather dated but at the time TheTwo Ronnies was a mainstay of TV programming and extremely popular. Much of the comedy was very clever and they were both highly talented. Still appreciated by many of my generation.
