I wonder if that’s the No.22 bus - to Petersfield or Midhurst, via Shoreham, Steyning and Storrington? Looking at the cars I would imagine it’s slightly earlier than 1963.

Yes, I would say so too. Late 50s I reckon.

The door was on the corner, I believe, probably wrong! First time I had been able to listen to albums in a booth with headphones WOW

Up until the mid/late 70’s when the big Boots was built on the NE corner, Virgin were based there, in part of an old building.

Then moving to a small shop just up Queens Road on the west side.

Before moving to a Virgin Megastore on Western Road in the mid 80’s.

Ah, apologies....before my time.

My first visit to the philanthropic bearded one's store was when it was up Queens Road!

Some things I can remember, obv. very important, Argent Encore, Leo Silverbird and Queen Sheer Heart Attack purchased from there, that dates it and me, wife's birthday remains a mystery

Ahh, my back yard ... from 1967 to 1983 - my house is just out of picture off to the right, round the back of the shops off Longridge Avenue

Could tell so many stories from that one picture
Bunking into Butlins
Playing "mad-hole" pitch 'n' putt
Youth-club disco upstairs above the Lido
First alcohol experience in the park garden by the "barn"
Almost my entire paper-round drops are in that picture
And as for the swimming pool; "Jellie-Bean" [Lido manager?] lived right opposite me - miserable fecker!

A truly marvellous scene ....
