[Food] Fennel what to do with it ?

Swindon, but used to be Manila
Just had 2 fennel turned up in a fruit and veggie box... I don’t think I have ever eaten fennel before.

What can I do with it??

Simple suggestions please.. receipe suggestions and not where I can stick it [MENTION=28934]AmexRuislip[/MENTION].

It's great in salad - I use it a lot in the summer.

It goes very well braised with some orange too.

I must say that two of them is taking the piss a bit - fennel has an overwhelming flavour and can't really be used as a basis for a main dish as it overpowers everything

It's lovely!

Slice it and put it in a salad.

Add it to a curry or a stir fry.

Roast it when having roasted vegetables.

Do NOT put it in the bin.

Fennel does have an overwhelming flavour, but less so if you roast it. Works well then as a side dish, if you roast it with Parmesan.

Yes, but that overwhelming flavour is overwhelmingly gorgeous! Very aniseedy.

I am always disappointed when I can't find fennel. My fault for shopping in Asda...

Thinly slice and put in a salad. I’ve made the salad below a few times, nice, replace with whatever you have. Always good with fish, e,g, fish, tomatoes and fennel in a papillote to steam.
