Didn't recognise him at first, as he wasn't on his arse pleading to a referee.

And then leaves the scene of the accident before the police arrive. Giving your details to a bystander (but still legging it) doesn't really count as doing what you're supposed to do – smacks of trying to dodge a breathalyser test to me.

It appears he actually had two separate accidents. First he reversed into a van smashing its tail lights and then he drove into two parked cars 200 yards further on...and then into some railings. You don't do all that unless you're pissed or under some other influence

Saw the title and thought it'd be about the late Tony, didn't cross my mind that it could be about anyone else.

10 game ban seems fair.

I assume that comment's tongue-in-cheek?!

Prison term seems more like it, if he was pissed and fled the scene.

Not saying he did, but just in case anyone wants to know

POTENTIAL PENALTIES FOR FAILING TO STOP AT THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT

Between 5 and 10 penalty points on their license
A fine of up to £5,000
Imprisonment for a maximum term of 6 months
Disqualification for a set period if the court deems this necessary
The seriousness of the case and the results of the failure to stop will be taken into consideration by a court when determining an appropriate punishment.

and, for completeness

DRINK DRIVING OFFENCES AND PENALTIES

Being in charge of a vehicle while above the legal limit or unfit through drink. This could result in 3 months’ imprisonment, up to £2500 fine or a possible driving ban.
Driving or attempting to drive while above the legal limit or unfit through drink. A person could get 6 months’ imprisonment, an unlimited fine or a driving ban for at least 1 year (3 years if convicted twice in 10 years).
Refusing to provide a specimen of breath, blood or urine for analysis. Refusal could lead to 6 months’ imprisonment, an unlimited fine or a ban from driving for at least 1 year.

Hopefully he is drug tested by the police too.
Same penalties as drink driving above
