with lockdown will they be closing all garages and mot centres as mine is booked in for weekend and they havnt announced if they closing or not

You will if you have to go shopping.

My MOT isn't till August fortunately, but I'll be interested in the advice. Does it mean your car is basically offroad until such time as you can get it MOT'd ? Because you can't tax it either without one.

You'd have to apply for SORN then. I imagine some sort of announcement will be made in due course.

mine is due thurs.. ill ring garage .. did google this earlier and said garages were open in..m italy i think as needed to keep everyone who needed to be on the road. did hear boris asked about this early doors .... dont think i heard an answer bur from somewhere something said about poss issuing cover note ... i need my car,.. vulnerable person to get stuff to now there is no way in hell that she can have her usual delivery slot...

Looking at DVSA website it appears lorries will be granted a 3 month extension, assume lorries are first to have an extension due to order of importance, more news on domestic vehicles should be forthcoming?....
Mine is booked in for Friday and I am deemed to be a key worker, will not be working unless it’s either tested or extended...

With hilarious timing the glass in my wing mirror fell off and smashed just as I got in the car early today.

Any idea if Halfords will be open tomorrow? Are they deemed essential?

Maybe now in the future the government will start treating haulage companies with some respect instead of ****ing them over week in week out.

that would be Northern Ireland, they have an exiting problem with lifts at MOT centres so suspended testing a while ago. or at least they already have a process in place to cope with the new situation.
