We have 2 kids 6 and 9 (Strange names, I know) so we have plenty of games and try and get round as a family when we can. That will increase in the coming days, weeks and months.

This week (With the pending isolation) I just invested in Exploding Kittens (Looks like fun) and a classic in Cluedo ( i didn’t play it as a kid so want to give it a crack with the family)

Popular games in our house....

Yahtzee (Iove this game)

Dobble (Memory game that is great with kids and adults, I can’t recommend this enough, it’s ace, and there are lots of different games you can play, also small and portable)

Uno (Kids ad wife love it, trying to get into it)

Monopoly (Classic)

Battleships (Classic)

Guess Who (Classic)

Connect 4 (Classic)

Lots of packs of top trumps kicking about

Shopping List (Younger kids game but we still play it as it’s great fun)

tumbling monkeys (bough for a drinking game before we had kids but now they play it, (Without the vodka I might add) bit like Kerplunk)

Chess (I love it and I’m trying to teach the kids but it’s hard going sometimes)

I say ditch the classic games, as a family we're loving King of Tokyo (https://www.board-game.co.uk/produc...3FnmJYBy2A4h1eBx4JuPS9qjBMBEgGuQaArDvEALw_wcB) and Jungle Speed is fun as well - it's snap with bells on (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Asmodee-ASMJSNEW04EN-Jungle-Speed-Version/dp/B07HS2V8QF). Trolls and Dragon is good fun (https://www.board-game.co.uk/product/troll-dragon/) as is Carcassone (https://www.board-game.co.uk/product/carcassonne-2015-new-edition/)

The price of some of them is high but I compare it to what you'd spend on a family trip to the cinema to justify the cost a bit.

This reminded me - I have the Legends game with a DVD. I will have a look and see if I can turn it into a quiz somehow for a bit of fun. I'm sure the club won't mind if I make the videos unlisted.

If you've got a few of you in the house:

Settlers of Catan
Ticket to Ride (not too hard for children either)
Carcassonne
Seven Wonders

Unfortunately my kid is only 4 and has the attention span of a goldfish, so can't really play many board games with him. But I do intend to catch up with some mates for some online board gaming, and may play the odd two player game with the Mrs (if we can stop falling asleep in front of the TV News). My favourites:

Settlers of Catan
Thunderstone Quest
Dominion
Carcassonne
Ticket to Ride
Ascension
... and others

My family are big fans of Kings of Tokyo and Carcasonne - I can't recommend Pandemic enough - if you haven't played it. The object of the game is to beat the viruses before they become a pandemic, players work together to beat the game.

similar to forbidden island, which i would also recommend
