Not cheery, but beautiful, and bitterly humourous. David Berman shuffled off before the pandemic, and would probably hope we consider him lucky. As he said on another song on the Purple Mountains album:

When the dying's finally done and the suffering subsides
All the suffering gets done by the ones we leave behind

So long to David Berman - a tortured soul, but very gifted lyricist and poet.

Today it's a close run thing between 2 songs by Third Eye Blind, but Motorcycle Drive By wins out for me.



Still plenty of the day to go so this is definitely a "so far" choice. God of Wine was the close second.

No time to listen to anything today apart from another track from Steve's new album.
Fun fact. Recorded in Mono due to Steve's hearing loss not allowing him to hear stereo separation any more. Apparently a rather more robust sound. Enjoy:
