Will it though ?
This situation is going to get messy if all remaining fixtures can’t be completed. There’s no way the current bottom 3 teams would accept being relegated if the season was ended now or in a couple of weeks, and would probably take legal action if that was decided. Equally the teams at the top of the Championship would do the same if they can’t be promoted.

Assuming our game is cancelled on Saturday and all other games are played, we could find ourselves in the bottom 3 by the end of the weekend and could be in that predicament ourselves !

Therefore the only sensible option would be for the Euros to get cancelled and we finish off our season in June / July and the start of the new season is delayed until September.

Actually quite sad that there will be no football from mid-March until August - earliest.

May not be able to restart in June - totally unpredictable at this stage.

Bin off the rest of the season. Give Liverpool the title. Promote WBA and Leeds taking EPL to 22, relegate none this year but lob the team in 17th into the playoffs in the next two seasons along with the 3,4 & 5th in the Championship to get the EPL back to 20 over 2 seasons.

So the Euro's get pushed to 2021 and the league resumes in the summer.. does that mean we'll have a summer window to strengthen the squad with a striker?

And will Izquierdo be fit and available for the Arsenal fixture?

Andone's loan finishes on June 31st.

I can't see the league finishing this season, however.

Bit harsh on the team in 17th when the two teams below them are getting away with it.

Seriously though, seems like the best option to me.

All governing bodies will delay making the decisions because of the £££££s but,as we have just found out, the virus will make the decisions for them.

The season won't be finished and the governing bodies will be forced to make some kind of compromise. There will be losers and winners and it will be unjust.

Restart the season in August, and for the 2020-21 season play a new competition with reduced fixtures
Play each team once next season maybe, and potentially have no promotion or relegation for one season only

They'd never allow playing each team once. Who would decide about home advantage?

That won’t work. It just compromises NEXT season as well, and effectively extends the impact of this situation all the way to May 2021. The best option is to void THIS season in some way, hope things are under control by August, and start afresh.

Indeed.

Why mess up 2 seasons ?

Void this one. Start from scratch again, and set a reviewable date as to when that will be.

It's possible that next season will be impacted anyway, not enough is known about the virus yet.
