So many possibilities, but I’d probably go with Great Expectations by Charlie Dickens.

I like a good adventure story, though, so close behind would be King Solomon’s Mines and Treasure Island.

As a younger kid it would’ve been Five Go to Smugglers Top or The Box Of Delights and as an older kid it would’ve been The Owl Service.

Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Norman Mailer said he would not have changed two in the book. There are few equal examples of anything written so concisely.

Personally big fan of Order of the Phoenix. It's the point at which the story kicks up a notch and takes a slightly darker turn.

I think I remember the film. And as I recall, I think we both kinda liked it.

No love for The Eyes of Darkness by Dean Koontz? I like the part where he emphasises the change in narrative by changing font and writing style.

I've only read 'Of mice and men' from Crodo's list.

I'll probably say Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, it's the book I've probably re-read the most
