Louisa Sargent, 38, has Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma.

All options in the UK, apart from potential clinical trials, have been exhausted, so family and friends are urgently looking at private options available abroad.

Specialist cancer treatment has been identified in Germany and potentially the USA. The family urgently needs to raise very significant funds for Lou to be treated outside the UK.

We need to raise around £50,000. Any immediate donations would be so gratefully received (link below) and in addition fund-raising is being organised around a series of forthcoming events which friends and family are taking part in.

We currently have over 50 people who will be participating in the following:

Paris Marathon

Brighton Marathon

London Marathon

100km Bike Ride, Isle of Wight

Tough Mudder, London West

Three Peaks, Yorkshire

Serpent Trail 50k UltraMarathon, Hampshire

If you can spare a couple of quid or more, it would be so very much appreciated. Thanks.

At this moment, 192 people have looked at this thread. Shirley some of them could have spared £ 1 ? We have a great record of helping our own. Let's continue this custom of helping other NSCers out if we can.

I have contributed a modest amount, according to my limited means, but I do wish you all the very best. In times gone by I took part in the London and Paris Marathon and would gladly have dedicated raised money to this cause. Unfortunately I cannot run such distances now, but wish I could do something more to help. If anyone has ideas, please pass them on. In the meantime, I hope this proves to be a life-saving option. Good luck.

Thanks for your donation, It is genuinely appreciated. Louisa's family have been overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers. Although it's a huge burden for Lou, her and her family take strength from everyone's generosity.

If you can, please feel free to share the link on facebook or any other social media platforms you use?

Hi,

I've just made a donation. All the luck in the world to Louisa, I hope they make the target and that she beats the C.

Cheers.

For some reason this thread didn't catch my eye initially.

Everything is genuinely appreciated. It's nice that people think it's a worthy enough cause to reach into their pockets.

Done. Good luck to Louisa.

I have a couple of scars from Melanoma removal myself (I'm 5yr clear now) so I have some idea of the worry she and her family must have.

Thanks. Much appreciated. Great to hear that you are all clear.

This is the last bump I'll give this, but if you have considered donating to this, please do it now. Thank you
