I need to calculate the absolute difference between 2 sets of figures ie. the difference between 2 and 4 is 2. However if i do a calculation of 2-4 then the result comes back as -2. I need the figure to always be a positive number.This is for a footy spreadsheet for a competition that me, my neighbour and my daughter play every premier league week to see who can best predict goals scored by teams, and therefore it is very important:smile:

For example if i estimate Brighton to score 2 goals, and we actually score 4 then my penalty for my Brighton prediction is 2. At the end of the day the person with the lowest score wins.

can anyone help?

If AWAY then do;

If WEST HAM then GS=3;
Else GS=0;

End;
