Any updated views on whether 40+ points is going to be required this year?

If third-bottom West Ham carrying on picking up points at the same rate, they'll be on 36-37 points by the time we're done.

I think 38 with a relatively favourable goal difference will be ok... but that will cut it very tight.

Stad de Clad team are tailing off exactly how we did last season - 3 wins in 17 - so should win one or two more

Norwich, Villa and CP would ideal bottom 3 for me

I would say 39 to stay up this year

Very likely between 37 and 39.

My guess is that 38 would do us as we'll keep a better gd than our rivals

Highly likely that 36 will relegate us

Looking a West Ham’s run in they might not get another point!

From here, played 13, won 3, drawn 3, lost 7, would be very likely to keep us up.

It's their next 8 which are hard. Their last 5 are manageable.

Exactly my thoughts. Three wins, three draws. They're most likely to come from:
Watford, Sheff Utd, Palace, Arsenal, Man U, Newcastle, Southampton, Burnley, Norwich

Both they and Villa will do well to get another 9 points each, looking at their remaining fixtures, so 35 points could be our target this season.

Norwich need 22 from 13 games Avg so far 0.72 so at this rate will get 27/28 points
Watford 17 from 13 Avg = 0.92 will get 35
West Ham 16 from 13 Avg 0.96 will 36/37
Villa 15 from 13 Avg = 1 will get 38
Plucky 14 from 13 Avg = 1.04 will 39/40
Us 14 from 13 Avg = 1.04 will get 39/40

So at this rate 38 might be ok

I'm kind of hoping that Watford's new manager bounce might be starting to wane a bit, l know they were unlucky to lose yesterday, but generally their results seem to be tailing off a bit.

Still, now l've said that no doubt they will put that right next Saturday. :shootself

Sticking to the 40. No hopeless ambulance cases this season.

Norwich do looked doomed, but I wouldn’t put it past them to get some high scoring wins.

One of them against us I fear, we are shit at Carrow Road normally

Looking at the remaining fixtures for all the bottom clubs , up to Burnley, we have a very tough run in. Having said that, both West Ham and Villa’s are worse( IMO)
If it goes to form, we will just about survive.
