dont matter
£6m seems cheap compared with what Bournemouth paid Liverpool for Jordan Ibe and Solanke, worth a risk imo but maybe we’re tightening our belts

Neither of them were out of contract in the following window. Ibe had played 41 games for Liverpool and Solanke 21, both had also gone out on loan at various stages to get more experience. Lamptey has one senior appearance in his career

Which proves top flight match experience can mean nothing. Both useless signings.

Doesn't matter whether they're useful or not, top flight experience boosts a player's sale value and makes them a more attractive opposition to clubs as they have "got up to speed" with a league if not fully proven themselves, and commercially a better known name at the top level will benefit the club more r.e. shirt sales etc. Lamptey will likely go on to have a better career than both, but this is how the market works

That's why I'd rather we select our players on just ability. Could save us a fortune.

I like the look of this fella.

Here are some reasons.

1. Clinical tackles.
2. Very fast.
3. Great acceleration.
4. Some tricks up his sleeve.
5. Crosses the ball along the deck. (Maupay & Connolly will love that).

We select our players on potential ability which is the big difference, some work out and some don't but given our philosophy to become more self sufficient as a club, we wouldn't be able to match other clubs in the league to buy ready made players for this league. Next window we have at least 3 or 4 positions which could do with strengthening, if we were to go for the here and now we'd only be able to sign one or two players max

These aren't the players you're looking for.

Why does Naylor only step forward to confirm what’s already reported elsewhere?

Just a pattern I’ve noticed

A potential Athletic job available for anyone who wants to put little more than a smidge of effort in?

Why is a Stoke fan Brighton's correspondant?

Nope. Way too short to make it long term as defender in PL. Compensated by pace currently but won’t last and will pull constant hamstrings and be in ‘development squad’ with the other missing persons (why hasn’t someone called the Police yet?) if he moves to ‘the Brighton triangle’. Come on people, you should know the score by now? That and it’s just not going to happen anyway!

Not that old chestnut, think Naylor’s been following the Albion since before you were born probably?
