I'd suggest you do a little bit more research before you come up with cock and bull quotes like that. Bee stings will never wipe us out as a species but a Virus could.

It could. But the point is, it almost categorically beyond any any doubt won’t. What is your point anyway Veggie, you seemed insanely concerned by the could element. Lots of things could happen. You could relax for example. All I’m saying is I’ve seen a dozen of these ‘coulds’ in my lifetime, all accompanied by the same hysteria you’re apparently suffering from and none, none, have come close to killing more than a few thousand out of 7 billion people. Hence the bee example, I’m trying to put it in context so you’ll sleep better. Allay you’re fears based on reason rather than Hollywood . I’m puzzled as to why a few deaths on the other side of the planet has got your mind in a spin. I guess nothing will help you see there’s actually nothing to really worry about if you’re really pondering if this in the one to kill us all (which is a lot of death, 7 billion in fact). But I reckon it won’t.

West is BEST
Influenza kills about 80,000 a year, globally.
This is a new mutation of a virus so it’s got folks excited. Scientists and medical bods all want a piece of the action so they all have something to say. I imagine the novelty will wear off once people cotton on to the notion this might not quite be World War Z.

Thanks for that Corporal Jones, can you inform the WHO and the Chinese authorities that they have massively over reacted. I'm sure your reassurance will be most welcome, then they could turn their attention to the real threat, Bee stings.

Find it amazing how the Chinese authorities have shut down that city. Imagine a city the size of London being on lock down!

In HK at the moment, extreme caution is evident and also some quite laughable things. Virtually everyone is wearing a facemask (not particularly unusual in Asia in winter) and some schools have been closed. On entry to many buildings (eg, cathedrals, casinos and shopping malls for example) you’ll get zapped on the forehead with a temperature scanner......sometimes they literally press it against your forehead, but don’t sanitise it after each person. Also not sure what they do if your temperature is a bit high......and Macau was FULL of shops handing out food samples from tubs......and the virus is supposedly spread mainly by touch.......

Just gone through HK airport and not been checked at all this time.

How about the BBC TV reporter (and film crew) who got the gig to go and report from downtown Wuhan, visiting the animal markets, hospitals and train stations?
I bet his missus was delighted when he gave her the news of his assignment.

They should have done this as folk entered polling stations during the Brexit Vote.

Anyway enjoy Hong Kong and their famous Casinos

I’m sure the sneaky HR department sent someone who’s retirement is coming up, just one last assignment, cough, cough.....

Even though it's hard to contract I can see why it spreading in China, everyone gobbing in the streets, no one covers there mouth when coughing, the place is a nightmare for respiratory diseases. They say if you're gonna catch TB anywhere in the world it'll be China.

People that cover their mouths with their hands would probably spread it also. Cough into your upper arm or vampire cloak please people.

I'm wondering if we have had a 5" 2 Chinese striker in for a medical and they have found he has the virus. He may now be quarantined at the Amex, hence the glow above the stadium at night...

On the news last night they said they are building a 1000 bed hospital from scratch to deal with it and it will open in 10 days time, incredible. They showed them clearing the land ready to start building

But how did they get planning permission for that so soon? Disgraceful. We’ve had 5 public consultations and in year 4 regarding a hundred metres of yellow lines on our road. These things need to be done properly.

Very disappointing to read this. This is a forum for Albion fans, many of which whom reside overseas.

I'm a long time Albion fan based in China, and one of my friends family members has passed away from this virus.

Don't be such a PRICK.

Actually, we have harnessed the abilities of Bacteria and have hijacked them for our own cellular biology needs. However, this latest potential disaster is a Virus, a small genetic package that invades cells and switches the cells function to manufacturing replica genetic packages to the exclusion of all other functions.... most Viruses will weaken a human or animal host but generally it is not in the Virus's best interests to actually kill it's host.

That's most virus's though, a 40-60% host mortality rate will still enable the virus to thrive.

I read somewhere, probably in Penthouse magazine in the letters section...by Mrs HugeNorks, that antibiotics were becoming next to useless as they treat cattle and sheeps with the same ones as we are given when we need them, so if you are a carnivore, you are taking the antibiotics every time you eat a steak etc.
