13th January 2018 we played away at West Brom who hadn't won in 20 matches. We fixed that for them, failing to defend set pieces and losing 2-0 giving them renewed hope that they may escape the bottom three: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46955255. NSC had a meltdown. We ended the game three points above the drop. Things looked bleak, but we rallied. West Brom were eventually relegated.

29th January 2019 we played Fulham away. We started well but our defending fell apart in the second half and we lost 4-2 to give the opposition renewed hope that they could get out of the bottom three: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46955255. NSC had a meltdown and things looked bleak. Though things got very bad for us, they got worse for Fulham who were eventually relegated.

21st January 2020 we played away at Bournemouth who were in the relegation zone and desperate for a home win. After a promising start, our defending fell apart and we handed them the win, leaving us a couple of points above the drop and giving them renewed hope that they could escape relegation. NSC had a meltdown and things looked bleak.......

Third time lucky

Nice try Palace, but it's not the third time.

In January 2017 we sent a fairly strong side to a 4th round FA Cup tie at Lincoln, took the lead and then fell apart in the second half and lost 3-1.
In January 2016 we put in our worst performance of the season, losing 2-0 to Rotherham.

In each of the last five Januaries we have gone to an away ground thinking we should get a result fairly easily and lost by two goals. It's become a habit for us, but like your eighty year habit of never doing the double over us, it doesn't seem to indicate whether the season is going to end up good or bad.

At least we don’t have to play anyone else this January. It would be helpful though if the League introduced a winter break like other European countries. It would suit us no end and us fans wouldn’t be so pissed off. :drink:
