Expensive flights in comparison to others so their only advantage is being regional, often offset by Ryanair or Easyjet flights to and from close destinations and origins. No surprise to me at all

Domestically they code share with BA on a number of routes so some risk there for BA passengers too

These things often become self-fulfilling prophecies, unfortunately.

Who would risk booking a FlyBe flight today with this in the news?

Palarse Ultras maybe, on their annual summer training camp on the Gaza Strip.

They'll fit right in:

Edit: Hmmm, perhaps this is too insulting? I mean, Boris Johnson compared them to letterboxes, but this...?

Exactly. This announcement is the kiss of death - Radio 4 said that flights are not ATOL-protected because - unlike Thomas Cook - they're not part of a holiday package.

Paid by CC should cover it but what about on Debit Cards, do they have the same protection?

I never understand why people pay for stuff like this by any other means than a credit card. There have been enough horror stories in recent years for everyone to know that paying by CC gives you the best protection if things go tits.

1000% agree.

Unless it is as cheap as chips in which case does it matter?

First test for Boris's commitment on reducing carbon emissions...

Government floating the idea of bailing out Flybe in waiving UK air passenger duty going forward.

If they do this they need to up general APD on International flights to compensate for the loss.

Either that or let em go bust...

Easy solution, scrap the current band A rate, make internal flights free and all other destinations are band B.

Perhaps Monarch and Thomas Cook can sue the UK Government if this happens as they were not prepared to help them.

Caroline Lucas on Twitter is desperate to see this airline collapse and 2,000 plus people lose their jobs.

If only they offered first class and flew to JFK, she might have wanted them spared.

Why? Has Lucas ever flown first class?
