There's are good Christmas songs, none of them hits though!

Whilst sorting through vinyl this week for a set tomorrow I stumbled upon this, never a hit, but vastly more pleasant on the ears than most festive offerings

What was the Channel 5 definition of Christmas Hits, given Mull of Kintyre sold double the singles of Mary's Boy Child /Oh My Lord.

Mull of Kintyre was released on 11th November 1977 so that is stretching Christmas Hits a little. some 6 weeks early. Marys Boy Child apparently sold 1.8m. Mull of Kintyre sold 2.09m

I’m guessing Mull of Kintyre doesn’t count on the grounds that it has nothing to do with Christmas.

Bohemian Rhapsody, released 31st October 1975, number one Christmas 1975, and again, Christmas, 1991.
The only song, by the same artist to be number one at Christmas , twice.

Why is Power of Love, by Frankie goes to Hollywood, regarded as a Christmas song , but, Bohemian Rhapsody isn’t?

I'm not 100% sure but I think we are getting ripped off, it may be the same show year on year... pretty sure we had the Christmas eve one on yesterday and it turned up again on telly this morning ! they might have been showing the same show for the last 10 years and I'm not sure if we have noticed any difference as most of the songs appear to be in latin or the same songs repeated anyway.
