I'm not usually one for things like this, but my dad died in 2012 when this was a big hit, and for some reason it touched me enormously.

I listened to it again and again.

Geno - Dexy's Midnight Runners.

I was never a great Dexy's fan, but back in the day when I was struggling to revise for A levels and was on the verge of chucking it all out the window, Geno was played on the radio and, for some unknown reason, it really lifted me up. I got my A levels (just) and went to Uni (Sussex).

Sorry PM, songs do that to you, take us back to people and places we miss enormously. Perhaps take a trip to the village of West Wycombe one day, you’ll recognise it from the video and can climb to the top of the hill, with the mausoleum at the top, visit the yellow house, hell fire caves etc. Nice pubs and only a couple miles from Adams Park too where they’re playing some great football this season. Ainsworth’s really got em going!

I don't know about sane, but this song saved my life on more than one occasion.

I had a pretty rough time of it a few years ago and again when my son was born nearly 2 years ago. Whenever I feel really low this song seems to remind me of the things I've got that are good.

If ever I need to relax I always seem to find myself listening to this.

It's like an audio reset button for me.
