Whilst I don't condone thievery I was more shocked over the value of her jewelry.

Can it be morally acceptable to own jewels worth £50m? This is on top of her properties, cars, etc etc.

We all like nice things but I don't think I could sleep at night knowing I own £50,000,000 of anything when there is so many better things to spend it on and people you can help.

and no I am not a socialist but that is wrong shirley?

I agree, but I’m real weakness for “Amazonian crystal bathtub”s.

Can't for the life of me see why anyone would want - let alone need - £50M quidsworth of jewellery. What's the point?

If you can afford £50m of jewellery, you can probably afford the insurance for it all as well, fortunately she won't be out of pocket.

With the OP on this one. Hard to feel sorry for anyone with that sort of wealth ‘just lying around the house’. Morally it’s just obscene. The victim will have to be on their guard as stats show burglars often return to, in her case, steal the Rembrandts, Ming Vases, Ark of the covenant etc.

If I'd had £50M of jewellery and it was stolen I'd be delighted (as long as it was insured, of course!) - I would then have the cash to spend on so many other things I'd rather have or do without all the hassle of selling the bl**dy jewellery!

All relative I guess - if your old man is worth 3 billion plus, then 50m isn't a high % of the family wealth to have blown on a few trinkets..................can't imagine she'll get a lot of sympathy though.

I smell bullshit. "According to The Sun" will usually do that but even so the article doesn't really make sense.

"£50m worth" but then they focus on a bracelet that's worth £80k and say that and some rings and stuff got nicked. Even if the average cost of the things stolen was £80k, that'd mean they took 625 items......

Hmmmmm.

I'd like to think it's a nice redistribution of wealth.

In reality, the cost of the insurance payout will trickle down to the rest of us.

Tsk!

Agreed. I don't actually have any issue with someone being 'rich', especially off their own hard work but she doesn't seem to have done anything for her wealth and has done little worthwhile with it. Oh and let's remember her Dad has built this fortune by getting into bed with some pretty disgusting people. So on the sympathy scale my mark is probably zero. And the funniest thing is that I bet she didn't have it insured.
