Good performance by all even Burn played well although pushed a bit when Pepe came on and I thought that we may have seen Bernardo brought on to deal with him but credit to the man he stuck to his job.

7 all round except Webster 8 and Mooy 9

Immensely proud of us last night, and enjoyed the Amazon stream - in spite of Alan Pardew claiming we are operating ‘well above our level’ still it made me laugh. Lee Dixon was, however, very balanced and sought to give us non-patronising credit - intelligent and insightful... cheers Lee.

Ryan - 8, superb when needed, sure the goal was horrible but it was a total fluke - let’s be brutally honest, off the top of the head and most certainly not intended.
Alzate - 9, given he was playing as a fullback, well he looked superb. He needs to replace Gross moving forwards.
Dunk - 8, one dire moment in the second half aside, he looked composed and untroubled.
Webster - 8, great goal - clearly a confidence player and he is growing in that respect.
Burn - 9, unreal - I love him.
Stephens - 8, very well played.
Propper - 8, silky Dave.
Mooy - 9, looks lean, faster, better and is a brilliant ball player. Superb.
Gross - 7, looks like the odd man out BUT works incredibly hard.
Connolly - 7, ran, ran and ran - perhaps trying too hard at times, but he is a nuisance and playing at a level where he doesn’t look out of place.
Maupay - 9, as above but scored a world class header and was simply tireless.

Subs:

Montoya - 8, composed and what a player to bring on!
Leo - 8, scared the shit out of a leggy Gunners defence.
Duffy - 7, scared the shit out of everyone - the perfect man to bring on just to shore us up.

A wonderful, wonderful and historic evening.

ALBION.

Ryan 7 Once again kept us in game but one away for goal
Burn 6 Good competitor . Too often beaten on one on ones but not his fault not a full back
Dunk 8 Very good
Webster 8 Very good
Alzate 8 To fill in at full back like that was outstanding but prefer him as an attacking midfielder
Stevens 8 Did what he does well
Propper 7 Not as dominate as has been
Mooy 9 Outstanding
Gross 6 Didnt contribute enough. Like to see Alzate in this role
Maupay 8 Good game
Connelly 6 As usual worked hard and was a handful at times. I never up score for amount of running and have marked down for not releasing ball to players in better positions. Appreciate out and out goal scorers are greedy buggers but there is a lot of credit to be had for an assist. Twice last night players would have been through on goal

Ryan 7 - good saves but so weak for the goal. Has to go through everything to stop that going in.
Alzate 8 - mainly for that tackle on Aubemyeng. Thought he could have got forward more but was probably under instruction not to. See my first sentence.
Dunk 8
Webster 8
Burn 7
Mooy 9 - our best player by a mile. Now far more important to the team than Propper or Gross. Is direct, quick (in thought not legs) and incisive. Also think he should take the dead balls compared to Gross.
Stephens 8 - very tidy. Does sometimes let people stroll past him though. Miles better than anything Ars have got.
Gross 6 - found him a bit wasteful and that free kick was so crap. Needed to be smashed not curled at the wall. As above, Mooy on dead balls now.
Propper 7 - Silky as ever but doesn't add that much in either direction.
Connelly 8 - nuisance and stretches teams. Needs to get his head up earlier.
Maupay 8 - great header, shot first half and being pissed off for not getting the ball from Connelly.

Trossard 8 - should have kept his shot down mind.
Montoya 7 - not a fan but looked like he'd been on all game
Potter 9 - clever playing 4 centre midfielders against a team that have none. Completely dominated. We weren't right at the start of the second half though (yes yes Arsenal are good but we looked a bit deer in headlights for a few minutes) and it was predictable the half would start like that.

Ultimately, there was no need to when they were able to exploit the space between Arsenal’s midfield and defence. Davy Propper encapsulated this: 30 of his 36 successful passes came in the opposition’s half.

Propper 6  - We really are muggy supporters.

Stephens 8 - very tidy ...Miles better than anything Ars have got.

Having read loads of comments from Arse fans after the game, it strikes me that a player like Stephens is what they need - thought he was excellent last night, mopping up everything in midfield (the Arse need centre backs too but that's another story)

Mooy was my MoM though, he was at the heart of everything. Propper and Stephens not far behind though - Arsenal's midfield was non-existent

It’s what you do off the ball as well.

He was average last night and certainly not as good as at Anfield.

I’m also confused by Burn. I’m especially confused as to why he was standing unmarked in the middle of the box when Maupay headed in the winner. If Maupay has let it go it would have gone straight to him. Wasn’t he supposed to be playing left back?

I do think for the saved header Abammybloke gets round him too easy. He let Pepe get the ball too easily at time’s too - needed to be tighter imo. But also seems to play well a lot! I think moving forward we’ll see proper specialist full backs / wing backs but Burn & Alzate we’re filling holes which isn’t ideal...

Yes, I think that is fair. I would actually be a bit stronger in that I think Burn is the weakest player currently. He is doing his best, absolutely no doubt, but positionally he seems to struggle when the opposition are attacking, and playing at left-back is also a challenge (so perhaps I'm being too harsh - he is doing okay).

Would like to see Bernardo given an opportunity.

I also think since Villa, Montoya has had quite few good games.

Interesting - are aerial duels included in duels?

I wonder who counts these things, because I don't recall him clearing very often if at all, wonder if they confused him with Webster......

That sir is an invalid opinion

Hmmm, well I think Burn is terrific. Not sure I could pick out my worst first team player at the moment as all are playing well

LoL - now I would say that is invalid......... :)

But yes, I do agree, we are playing really well. The fact that (IMO), our worst performer is at least a 6/10 in every game, has to be a positive.......

You obviously think there is a weaker player?

For me we don't have a 'weak' player - all players have good and less-good games, and some are more consistent than others, that's all. We could upgrade in every position with unlimited funds but being realistic we don't have an out-and-out clear target to replace (other than Muzza, but that's due to age).

Yes, as per my previous post, I do think Burn is weak, but even he is a 6/10 most weeks - which, if we can improve each year in the same way, it can only be good news.

Bernardo, I think would strengthen it, if he recaptures last season's form.

I do agree though, a mobile Murray replacement is surely the highest priority. Then perhaps get more full-back competition, plus Ben White to come in next season.

It does all seem very exciting......

Dan Burn was Ryan’s main out ball when going long in the second half and won virtually every header and flicked the ball on to Maupay or Connolly time and again. There was no one to challenge him in the air on that wide left channel.

Everyone of the "stats companies" are giving Dan Burn a very high rating for yesterdays game. Sure, statistics dont tell everything but they do say something.

I thought Burn had an excellent game, sure he never got everything right but against such high class players he played really well. He adds something a little different in attack too.
