A BBC report stating that Dresden, a city known for it's far right views, has taken the step of declaring an emergency, due to an escalation of Nazi extremism.

The resolution acknowledges that "right-wing extremist attitudes and actions... are occurring with increasing frequency" and calls on the city to help victims of far-right violence, protect minorities and strengthen democracy.

Feels like they are using the word "emergency" a bit more lightly than I would, but sure have heard about the issue. No simple solutions.

I wonder if the Aschenbach mentioned are related to the Aschenbach who was running the Sealand exile rebel government.

Wasn’t really referring to National Socialism, just the combination of three ideals and what it can produce

Hmmmm....an intellectual game rather than political analysis, then.... socialism (which some would argue does not even truly exist) is an ideal where everyone is equal regardless of ability, race or gender, and 'receives' according to need. It is the opposite of fascism, and eschews racism.

It’s just a personal opinion on how differing ideologies can combine to produce something else entirely.
