135 “barn find” cars going under the hammer

I thought zefarelly might like to put in a bid for the Lotus Cortina, listed as a Ford Cortina but looks like a Lotus Cortina to me

Some nice and strange cars there, most looking like they need restoration though

I'm out. I bet some of them don't even have sat nav???

No service history or MOT either I imagine, possibly no engine either. There is a Lancia on there that looks very broken too!

I am just a little tempted by the Alfa GTV....that will be worth serious dosh when renovated.

That's definitely not a Lotus Cortina! Just a bog standard Ford, with a green stripe down the side.

Fair enough, no nothing about them except the colour scheme, I’m an Alfa man !

This is one of the most ridiculous vehicles I've ever seen.

It's an airflow 2 door, most likely a 1500 deluxe, fitted with a GT dash, remote and at least manifolds if not full engine. It looks rotten. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, but they're still in high demand ( for a few months yet) and well restored or very good solid 2 door cars are £10k plus Gt's 20-30+ and Lotus more.

The body shell is everything, they're expensive/time consuming to restore, as are all monocoque biscuit tin cars. . . .from minis upward. . . Little wonder you can buy a new mk1 mini shell now. . . Escorts are close, Cortinas will be soon and then the Arse will fall out of the shed market and all the race cars out there will be totally new cars as opposed to just mostly new.

There are a few interesting things there. . . . . Hangs up anorak and retires to fireside

The little Alfa in lot 6 is lovely, most the rest might as well be put back in the barn they came from.

Looks like if you melted them all down you'd have just enough good steel to make a tea spoon.

Same pain, in metric ;-)

Used to be. I’ve had Alfasuds that dissolved around me. Post 1995 cars belie the Alfas are rust buckets mantra though

Makes them bargains though as the fear factor limits the sales to enthusiasts. Modern Alfas are flash Fiats sadly, although my 159 Sportwagon is the best looking estate you can buy...imo

I'd care for more than a few, none of the fords, except what appears to be a 1600e 2 door, if it's a rag top done by Crayford, it should be fine. A back street 'flexalotti' not so, although it may still be worth putting a roof back on, a rare bea and a good car.

The TVR trident is the jewel in there. No one knows what it is.

What a load of garbage this man 'collected'. I'd say more 'Hoarder' than 'Collector'.

I don't see anything there which could give a worthwhile profit after restoration costs.
