[Film] Joker vs American Psycho

By coincidence, I watched American Psycho for the first time this week and then went and saw Joker at the cinema.

Both feature excellent individual performances - Christian Bale channelling Jim Carey and Joaquin Phoenix channelling Mark Rylance - but I was struck by how both the films were intentionally ambiguous inasmuch as you are left wondering how much of what you saw was real and how much was in the central character's imagination/psychosis.

I enjoyed Joker more but both are excellent films.

Read the American Psycho book, then you'll realise the film is Mary Poppins by comparison.

For me, American Psycho is much much better than Joker.
