[Albion] Team v Everton

I do love the crass stupidity and complete lack of self awareness from Albion fans appropriating X spent with Y expectations.

We support a Premier League team put together on the cheap, even the expensive signing are cheap.
The cheapest of them all Groß is one of the best performing Premier League players.
Yet here we are, again, being told we should have an inferiority complex solely based on the other teams spending.

Stat, I’ve got to call you on this one. You are utterly wrong.

By way of analogy, a £100k car is typically twice as good (Fast) as a £50k car. Which in turn is twice as fast as a £25k car. So, if a £100k car goes 200, top end. Then your average £25k car can only hit 50mp... hold on a minute.

Ok, bad example.

Take Harry Maguire, £80m and quite clearly worth 4 or so Adam Webst... wait.

Ok give me some time, I need to think about this more.

It's not often that Stat makes me :lolol: .
I wasn't joking.

It seemed to be the only appropriate response to something as insulting as a complete stranger telling me how much money I have and what I should do with it.

Sensible gamblers will have a limit ( £0 for non-gamblers ) be that monthly, weekly or even daily... If £1 takes you over that limit then stick to your guns !

Oh dear, this thread is starting to resemble the dreadful old Brexit thread, with all the nastiness and insults!

My choice:

Ryan
Duffy....Dunk....Burn.
Webster....Stephens...Propper....March
Gross
Maupay.....Connolly
Subs: Button, Alkazate,Bissouma, Bong,Montoya,Murray,Trossard.

My 2 concerns are:
a. Is Trossard fit and ready to start in place of either Maupay or Connolly
b. The back 3 are all very slow.

Something like this at the start. Always worried with an inverted left back in Burn, and if played I would want the only left footer in March in front of him. Montoya has pace to get back if he does against the leading club for long accurate passes which is Everton.

PS: I'm really in favour of a flat back four with conventional full backs, and I have reservations about Montoya and Burn as full backs. However, for me Dunk, Webster and Duffy are automatic starters. Solly March is included as our only left footer. Trossard on 66 minutes.

He’s merely asking whether you mean what you say. I suspect that you do have a spare pound, and that the answer to the question is no.

The postscript to this is that I don't have anywhere near the sums I was quoting, and certainly not to bet. If he'd have called my bluff I would have had to have backed down in quite an embarrassing fashion.... But I knew he wouldn't, because as you say, it's all very easy talking down to everyone all the time, throwing your weight around and saying things you don't believe, but a bit harder to back up your words with some bottle and some cold hard cash.

Judging by his last posts i'd say the fella is smarting a little.

Anyway, i'm sure most are on here for some idle speculation about the line up tomorrow, so i'll back out of any further discussion

The players don't get told the team until a couple of hours before kick off

For me Alzate will replace Mooy

No idea what formation though

Also formation to change twice during game

Oh please.

Nothing of the sort.

Just to reiterate, my opinion is:-

- Giving £300m to someone like Silva doesn't make your team better.
(I apply the same logic to most teams around the Albion)
- I do not apply the same logic to the likes of the cities, Manchester and Lincoln, as there I believe you to be correct.
- Having a better history doesn't make you a better team now.
- Am I prepared to bet on that, an emphatic no.

Oh and I do accept I could have been less of an arse to begin with.
But as said this is an all too common assessment of our competition (but they've spent so much more) that to me smacks of defeatism and inferiority, which gets right on my tits.

Nevertheless I do apologise for letting that get to me and come out swinging.

Dan Burn is left footed [emoji849]

People still trying to predict Potters lineups? Lol

As said it's getting easier:-

1. Ryan
3. Steele ( HGP )
5. Bong Substitute at best.
6. Montoya
7. Schelotto Injured or sub at best
8. Balogun Sub
9. Webster ( HGP )
10. Dunk ( HGP )

11. Duffy ( HGP ) Sub/start (delete Balogun as appropricate)
12. Burn ( HGP )
U21. Băluţă Sub at best
13. Stephens ( HGP )
14. Bissouma Sub.
15. Pröpper
U21. Alzate An unfortunate sub.
17. Groß
18. Jahanbakhsh Sub if lucky
19. March ( HGP )
20. Trossard

22. Murray ( HGP ) Sub
23. Maupay
24. Connolly

GP only has 22 players from which to choose.
9 of which are at various stages of 'happy to just be on the bench'.

So we basically know the team, already, as we only have 12 starters.

Pick your 4 from Gross, Trossard, Maupay, March and Connolly.

Lack of PL experience

Trossard, Maupay, Connolly

Total 13 games between them in minutes, 6 goals, + a good goal disallowed because of VAR

Jahanbakhsh 12 games, 0 goals 0 assists

March 91 games 9 goals, 11 assists

Good post. I know he's suspended but next game Mooy would be on that list as well of course which makes it 11 from 14.
