...during VAR decisions

Brighton and Hove Albion have asked the Premier League to address the "nonsense" experience of fans in stadiums being kept in the dark during VAR decisions.

Paul Barber, the club's chief executive, has written to league officials after disallowed goals in consecutive weeks against West Ham and then Southampton caused widespread confusion at the Amex.

He said both overturned decisions were eventually proved to be "correct", but the second goal in particular left "30,000 people in the stadium with absolutely no idea what was going on".

Can't see why they don't have a rugby type of VAR. It works for rugby fans and the model's there.

Was very painful waiting for the VAR result, surely the FA could do better. On second thoughts....

Just need to get back to 4th official flagging for offside. Then up to ref to decide if considers interfering with play. On both Brighton ones no reason why 4th official should not have seen offside. At least all spectators would know straight away there was doubt.

4th official doesn't carry a flag though.

Yes. Love the way the rugby refs talk through their decisions in a logical methodical way, often including the touch judges and TMO. Everyone can see what decision has been made for what reason. The end result is the best refs are widely admired and respected
