[Help] Laptop Advice - for a Student

Miss W has gone off to Uni and decided she would like a new laptop. Been an age since I worked in that side of IT so no idea what is best. Requirements are :

1. Needs to be light
2. Needs to be a reasonable price ( none of this £1k+ stuff )
3. Needs to be Windows
4. Are there any student schemes to buy stuff like this cheap ?

Anyone have any recommendations ?

Bit on the expensive side maybe but the Microsoft Surface Pro is a decent bit of kit and the entry level is under £1k
plus they do student deals - check the Microsoft store.
Ver 7 is new out this month but Amazon are still selling last year's v6 for a chunk less ...

Very light [as will your wallet be after] - but a great piece of kit ....

Quite honestly these days, gettind down to currys pc world normally has decent machines, similar on not too far from internet prices

Recently got this, well close to, my hdd is smaller, for work

Very happy with it, spec wise and its nice aesthetically. 2nd screen, keyboard eff all.

I would avoid Curry's like the plague - their customer service is dreadful. I recently got my student daughter a Dell Inspiron from the Dell outlet

If you go for condition: "certified refurbished" its as good as new with full warranties and much cheaper than the new one. The latest Inspiron was about £400

Highly recommend.
