The Hawks play Romford in the Buildbase FA Trophy next Saturday, October 12 kick off 3pm - It's Non-League Day, and a great opportunity for fans of Premier League & Championship teams to visit their local grassroots club...

For those who haven't been to the TerraPura for a while, we've made a few changes... We have our own ale courtesy of The Loudshirt Brewery (a cheeky little 5.1% IPA called Loudshirt Ultra), vegan options on the menu, curries, fish & chips, live music before the game - you can buy tickets online, and thanks to the work of the amazing Hawks volunteers, the place has had a bit of a spring clean!

It's a tenner adult, fiver concessions, kids 10 & under free. (FA rules state we can't change the prices this year!).

Don't believe all the negative press - there's a strong, vibrant grassroots community at Whitehawk Football Club - and we'd love to welcome you to Non-League Day...

Ha! To be honest it didn't really matter who turned up - he brought with him International media from Reuters/ AP and the BBC... All we wanted to do is get our community message out, and it worked...

The guy next to him in the pic in the Hawks shirt was part of our Hawks Heroes programme - 20 lads/ dads over 30 from the Estate who were unfit got together for a 10-week programme of fitness & football - after the first day's training he fell ill, had to have an emergency blood transfusion, and then found out he had bowel cancer... He completed the course (the group lost a collective 8 stone), and he's (hopefully) on the road to recovery.

Before joining the course, He had no idea he was ill...

The club has no political affiliation - if the tories were in brighton they may have asked to do the same - but the message of community, and the fact that we're trying really hard to shake off this so-called 'estate' tag, (and to be honest the Whitehawk & Bristol Estates are no way near as bad as they were perhaps 20 years ago) and create a real community grassroots football club...

I can't change what happens on the pitch, but I can definitely try to change what goes on off it...
