Today is without doubt one of my most memorable games and will stay with me for a long time.
For the young lad (guess 8-9 years old) say behind me he could not believe his luck at the final whistle when the spurs player hoofed the ball into the stand in frustration.
It landed by him and he scored the best souvenir, until......
The stewards made him give it back.
Now I know there are sponsorship for the match ball but it was handled bad. I’d hope this chap may be an Albion fan for 80 years but his memory of this game will be having the match ball taken from him rather than the outstanding team performance and result we witnessed.
In case the club read these pages and they think a gesture is appropriate the lad was sat in row L of the family stand with a seat number in the late 550’s
