I suspect most of your colleagues will be off tomorrow as they will have thrown a party today!
It is but self inflicted and the reason why they have deemed it as an illness is to combat the hangover "cure" ripoffs. "Food products, including drinks, cannot be marketed as being able to prevent or treat illnesses, it added."

I used to work with someone who went out drinking every Friday before a weekend shift.
Without fail, she would phone up each Saturday morning saying she had a migraine (which she claimed to suffer from) and couldn’t come in.
The thing that really annoyed me was that she always used to say ‘I never get hangovers’ whenever the topic of drinking came up.
