Been reported by the BBC that Labour Party members have today agreed to abolish private schools and integrate them and their assets into the state school system. If heaven forbid Corbyn became PM.

My view is this is deeply worrying as it is another example of Corbyns hard left labour trying to turn the UK into something akin to a communist state. No freedom of choice just do what we say. What next every Mercedes or BMW driver having to donate their cars to people that can only afford bicycles!

Labour used to be a respectable, responsible but caring party but under corbyn it has just morphed into an extremist socialist workers wet dream. How can anyone take labour seriously, they make even Boris look sensible

Corbyn went to a private school until 11...when he went to a grammar school...where he got 2 ‘E’ grade A levels.

I guess they may have a point - private schooling clearly didn’t work for him.

I’m not sure how I feel about this. Imagine you rock up to your local state comp and now find you have ***** like JRM and Boris in your class.

I don't agree with this, but won't be shedding any tears over it either. Both our extremist parties are capable of doing far worse things than this!

Sensible policy that would benefit the country as a whole.

Absolute rubbish. You'd have to welcome loads of children into state school at enormous cost to the tax payer when their parents are rich enough to pay for them. Sensible? The private tutors will not work for the state. They will teach abroad, loss of taxes. Sensible? Ultimately the very wealthy will just send their offspring to foreign countries and pay there. Money out of the UK economy. Sensible? Taking away choice from those that can afford when it wont benefit the less well off? Sensible? Bolacks!!!!

Let’s do away with Oxford and Cambridge universities too. That would really attract talent to this country.

Deluded, bitter, jealous and clueless .......... but worryingly attracting the votes of more and more disillusioned students

Excellent policy.

Incredibly difficult to achieve though - given the extent of privilege and power reliant on the two tier system being maintained.

No doubt the playing fields of the (former) Private Schools would be sold off immediately with affordable housing built. In the meantime the tutors all leave the UK, and the rich who can afford to currently place their children in Private Schools will send their children abroad for their education. Also the current overseas students at these Private Schools will depart to foreign schools.
While the 'world class' education we are told we have is found wanting yet again, and shows no improvement in standards following the closure of Private Schools.

Excellent policy. No it isn't

Incredibly difficult to achieve though Agreed they will never win an election or the court cases brought against them- given the extent of privilege and power reliant on the two tier system being maintained.

Does the Labour party and conference work that way?
Just because the party have done this doesn't mean that Corbyn and Abbott agree with it.
You could argue that Harrow and Eton educated toffee nosed snobs have had a major part to play in the downward spiral this country has descended into and making it the laughing stock around the world that it is.
