Would Sussex have been restored to Div 1 if Archer not been rightly picked to play in the Test? I suspect so.

I cannot think of a way around the problem, and I am sure many far better minds have tried over many years, but it does seem harsh to effectively be punished for bringing on the best players.

No. Batting is nowhere near good enough to set decent totals for our bowlers to bowl at, or chase down the relatively low totals to win games.

No, last season we had a Division 1 bowling attack but as this season the batting is weak.

Nope. Having Archer wouldn’t have made us bat any better.

Probably would have stopped Derbyshire 400 in the 2nd innings though
